I Co-Creation Seminars

Project: CIRC-2-ZERO
Virtual event

Description

The CIRC-2-ZERO Project held I Co-Creation Seminar online on 3 June 2026. This Seminar focused on Digital Twin Demo Platform (DTDP) pilot planning and preparation of pilot tests with SMEs in the Engineered Wood Product and Electronics sectors. It addressed the Use Case Development focusing on what will be tested among the piloting phase with SMEs.

Use cases will be stored in an easy to navigate library in the DTDP. Use cases will be grouped into clear categories based on their purpose. These categories may include e.g. creating outputs like Digital Product Passports or sustainability reports, supporting product design simulations, simulating circular value chains, improving efficiency or testing circular business models, such as cost optimization.

The SMEs participating to the piloting will choose 3–5 use cases from the library based on their own needs and goals. Business Support Organizations (BSOs) will support this selection process, helping companies pick relevant use cases based on their products, regulations, challenges, and available data.

The pilot uses two types of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), developed in earlier project events, that serve different purposes:

  • Platform KPIs show the results calculated by the system, such as carbon footprint, energy use, and costs, and are used in simulations and
  • Project KPIs measure how well the platform works, including reliability, user adoption, and benefits for SMEs.

Objective of the Seminar was to develop a methodological framework for planning pilots, including testing scenarios that reflect real-world applications and prepare for pilot tests, for both Modules of the DTDP:

  • the Circular Product Design (CPD) and
  • Circular Value Chain Design (CVCD) solutions.

This online seminar was internal for project partners and organized in Teams. Participants were divided into two smaller groups, where they worked in breakout rooms focusing either on the EWP or the electronics sector and worked on shared Excel files.

During the I Co-Creation Seminar two use cases were developed. As a homework assignment was to develop more use cases. These will be prepared before next on-site meeting in the beginning of June in Sweden. The next event, II Co-Creation Seminar, is taking place on 10-11 June 2026 in the northern Sweden, Luleå. Where will be focused on Piloting Plan.
