Future Cities #Visions Ideation Workshop – Shaping Urban Futures Together

Project: Future Cities
Virtual event

Description

How can cities turn future visions into real change? What has worked in the past, what hasn't – and what can be learned from each other?

Join the first Future Cities #Visions Ideation Workshop for an interactive session bringing together practitioners from different cities and networks to exchange experiences, reflect on challenges and explore new approaches to shaping urban futures together with local communities.

Rather than focusing on ready-made tools and methods, the workshop takes a hands-on approach based on real-life experiences and challenges. Participants are invited to bring their own future visioning cases – from urban spaces and infrastructure to social challenges such as loneliness, unemployment or public services. Together, they will explore what worked, what went wrong, which barriers stood in the way and what it takes to move from ideas to implementation.

Through collaborative discussions and creative exercises, the workshop aims to identify key conditions for successful, community-driven visioning processes and develop fresh ideas for future change.

The session is organised by the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn and facilitated by Damiano Cerrone, urbanist and researcher, and Jörn Frenzel, system-oriented designer and professor of service design.

Whether reconnecting with familiar faces or meeting new practitioners from across the Baltic Sea Region, the workshop offers an opportunity to share knowledge, learn from each other and jointly explore how to make future visions a reality.
