Circular food is an important topic of the curriculum, especially relevant for vocational school educators from professional training programs related to the field of food. The topic of circular food helps to connect the field of food with circular economy, sustainability and prevention of climate change.
The training on food-related for vocational school educators are planned as two consecutive online events, each approximately 1,5 hours. The aim of the training is to improve the competence of vocational school educators in the field of circular food. In order to achieve this goal, we will improve educators' understanding of circular food, promote the connection of the concept of circular food with the content of educators' subjects they are teaching, and ensure the exchange of experience on good practice examples of circular food teaching.
The first training event will take place online on November 27 at 15.00 - 16.30. In it, we will offer an insight into the connection of the food field with the circular economy, the exchange of experience of groups of vocational school educators on teaching circular food, the presentation of the circular food teaching experience by Anne Kersna, promoter of pre-school and school nutrition in Estonia.
The next online events will be January 23, 2025 at 15.00 - 17.00. The topics include the waste pyramid and its introduction, as well as the experiences of the Latvian vocational education school.
