Description

The Hamburg Environmental Partnership invites interested stakeholders to the Environmental Business Summit. Hamburg's businesses are making great efforts to advance climate protection. Across all sectors, companies are exploring potential cost-effective ways to reduce their CO2 emissions . At this stage, cooperation is key.

This year, Professor Settele will be the keynote speaker . He advises the German Federal Government on environmental issues and recently published the inspiring anthology " No Time for Pessimism " with entrepreneur Dirk Rossmann, featuring positive examples of innovative inventions and green business models. During this event, attendees will be examining the challenges facing companies from a hands-on perspective.

Since 2003, over 1,750 companies in Hamburg have voluntarily participated in the Hamburg Environmental Partnership , making valuable contributions to environmental and climate protection. As in previous years, four positive examples from various economic sectors and company sizes will be presented below:

  • With Dr. Jens Marquardt, we look at solutions for sustainable building and efficient forms of sustainability reporting at OTTO WULFF Bauunternehmung GmbH.
  • Following this , Jan Hendrik Pietsch, the sustainability officer of HHLA , will give us exciting insights into the electrification of port and logistics systems.
  • The look at the departure from fossil fuels is rounded off in a talk with Marc Behncke and his wife Alexandra Behncke , owners of the stonemasonry business Gerhard Gloge e. K. A large PV system now supplies several mobile special devices in addition to the electric vehicle.
  • The article concludes with an interview with Stefan Kühnbach , CCO of the Indaver Group. As an expert in circular economy within the chemical industry, he works on projects for the recovery of rare earth elements from hazardous waste and on the production of high-quality basic chemicals from polystyrene waste (Plastics2Chemicals).

The Environmental Economics Summit is also always an opportunity for direct exchange. A get-together with vegetarian and vegan treats provides a chance to network. In addition, there are information booths from all the support teams of the Environmental Partnership , from IFB Hamburg to our Energy Building Center .
