WCEF2024 Studio: Circular makerspaces to build circular businesses

Project: Circular spaces
Virtual event
Join a webinar about the intersection of makerspaces and circular economy principles!

Description

Welcome to our online event focusing on the intersection of makerspaces and circular economy principles! Throughout this session, we'll explore various aspects of integrating circular economy practices into makerspaces, as well as the significance of fostering innovation and businesses aligned with these principles.

We will delve into the concept of makerspaces – collaborative workshops where individuals gather to create, invent, and learn. We'll explore how makerspaces can serve as fertile grounds for fostering circular economy principles, including resource efficiency, waste reduction, and product lifecycle extension.

Building upon our understanding of circular economy principles, we'll examine the pivotal role of innovation and businesses in driving sustainable practices forward. From circular design methodologies to innovative business models, we'll highlight the importance of nurturing entrepreneurship and fostering a culture of sustainability within the maker community. Participants will gain valuable insights into how circular economy principles can serve as catalysts for innovation and economic growth.

The event will also include an introduction to an education programme prepared by project's 'Circular Economy makerspace' consortium, as well as a first look to a digital collaboration tool designed for makers, businesses and makerspaces.

The session will continue with a broadcast of the World Circular Economy Forum 2024 session 'The people driving change today'. After the session we will share remarks and have a short discussion.

This event is a WCEF2024 Studio presenting the World Circular Economy Forum 2024 to a local audience (www.WCEF2024.com).
