Description
The BSI_4Women Kick-off event is happening in Aarhus, Denmark, on April 24th and 25th, 2023. This event starts the project, which aims to improve sustainability in the Baltic Sea region. Key people and project partners are coming together to talk about how to work together and support the area.
At DOKK1, the discussions are about setting up a network of regional stakeholders, creating tools to help refugees start businesses, and beginning a program to support new businesses. Leaders like Peter Ekmann and Marek Duda are guiding these talks, with Beata Hulinka helping define everyone's roles during the project's implementation.
Also important management topics like financing and communication to keep the project strong. Real-life examples show how these efforts are already making a difference are discussed.

- Monday, 24 April 2023
- 12:00 PM: Attendees gathered for lunch at Aarhus Street Food.
- 1:30 PM: Welcome and introduction by Peter Ekmann (Business Hub Central Denmark) and Marek Duda (Rzeszow Regional Development Agency).
- 1:40 PM: Presentation by all project partners detailing their roles and contributions.
- 1:50 PM: Marek Duda discussed the main concepts of BSI_4Women and strategies for implementing project activities.
- 2:00 PM to 4:40 PM: A series of sessions led by Beata Hulinka (Rzeszow Regional Development Agency) and other project partners, focusing on preparing solutions through regional stakeholder networks, developing an entrepreneurial toolkit for refugees, starting an incubation program, and preparing a concept for a transnational investment fund.
- 4:40 PM: Piloting and evaluating solutions was discussed, followed by the first part of the Steering Committee Meeting.
- 6:00 PM: Day concluded with a discussion and summary of the sessions.
- 7:00 PM: Social dinner at Restaurant Flammen.
- Tuesday, 25 April 2023 - Steering Group meeting
- From 8:30 AM: Arrival at Radisson RED Aarhus for morning tea and coffee.
- 9:00 AM: Marcin Kaczmarski (Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein) spoke about the frames of cooperation and proper project implementation within the Interreg Baltic Sea Region.
- 9:45 AM: Financial management overview by Beata Hulinka, focusing on budgeting, costs documentation, and reporting deadlines.
- 10:15 AM: Communication session led by Agnieszka Nędza, discussing communication obligations, the strategy, project website, and social media plans.
- 11:00 AM: Conclusions from the Steering Committee.
- 11:15 AM: Introduction to the Case studies session by Peter Ekmann.
- 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM: Case studies presentation by Klaus Risom from Egenvirksomhed.nu and the team from IVDK HUB focusing on support for Ukrainians in Denmark.
- 1:15 PM: Event closed with a networking lunch.
