Recycled Nutrients in Agriculture - The Latest Information on Quality, Efficiency, and Safety

What does the latest research say about the quality, safety, and fertilization effects of recycled nutrients? The Finnish Biocycle and Biogas Association, together with other organizations, compiles the results of projects dealing with the quality, safety, and fertilization effects of recycled nutrients for the Agricultural Machinery Fair. At the fair, we dive into the quality issues of recycled nutrients, especially from the farmer's perspective.

The seminar on this topic, Recycled Nutrients in Agriculture - The Latest Information on Quality, Efficiency, and Safety (Friday, Oct 9, 2–5 PM), brings together leading organizations and projects in the field that study and develop the quality, safety, fertilization effects, and usability of recycled nutrients.

The seminar features, among others, TUKI, GREENHOOD, CiNURGi, and Laadukas Biokierrätys, as well as results from previous projects that studied the topic, such as LEX4BIO. Behind the projects is a wide range of research organizations, authorities, companies, and industry associations, such as the Natural Resources Institute Finland, the Finnish Food Authority, Finnish Biocycle and Biogas Association, Kiertoravinne Oy, and Gasum Oy. In addition to the seminar, recycled nutrients will be showcased at the Rural Network's Innovation Square throughout the Agricultural Machinery Fair. At the Innovation Square booth, you can check out project results, materials, and practical examples. The Swedish agricultural machinery company Bröderna Göransson will demonstrate the use of a NIR device for manure spreading at the booth on Saturday, October 10 2026.
