Beyond Infrastructure: Encouraging Citizens to Choose Active Mobility

Project: BSR Urban Mobility
Virtual event

Description

How can cities encourage more people to walk and cycle, engage citizens in planning active mobility measures, and create long-term behaviour change?

While many cities have invested in walking and cycling infrastructure, changing travel behaviour remains a major challenge. Cities often lack dedicated mobility management capacity, clear responsibilities for citizen activation, and effective approaches for reaching different target groups.

This interactive workshop explores how mobility management, citizen engagement, behavioural insights and targeted incentives can help increase active mobility uptake throughout the year. The workshop brings together practical tools, tested approaches and expert perspectives to help Baltic Sea Region cities move from planning infrastructure to activating people.
