Shared waters – Same standards. Baltic Sea Partnership for Future Navigation
Baltic Sea e-Nav

Live Sea Trial

17 March 2026
Technical details

The Baltic Sea e-Nav project deployed a Navigation System Prototype (NSP) aboard Wasaline’s M/S Aurora Botnia on the Vaasa–Umeå route. This marks the first practical application of S-100 standard navigation products in the Baltic Sea.

By moving beyond simulator testing to real-world conditions, the initiative validates next-generation datasets including charts, bathymetry, water levels, and currents. This live evaluation ensures future navigation solutions are robust and ready to support safer, more efficient maritime operations across the Baltic Sea.
