Join the discussion at the UBC TALKS webinar "The Last Mile to 2030: the role of urban mobility in reaching climate neutrality" on 29 September 2026 at 10.30–12.00 EEST / 09.30–11.00 CEST.

When all other hurdles on the path towards climate neutrality are solved, one common bottleneck often remains – urban mobility. How to decarbonise this sector? What measures and strategic decisions to take? And how to comprehensively calculate the impact of alternative approaches? The September webinar issue looks right into this matter.

Together with experts and practitioners, we explore how sustainable mobility, integrated planning and climate action can work hand in hand. This webinar will be especially relevant for city employees working in a climate, environment, transport, and urban planning department.

The programme combines strategic perspectives with practical municipal experience. Speakers from the University of Gdansk and Institute of Baltic Studies, and the Cities of Gdansk, Tampere and Östersund will share approaches to Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning, climate budgeting, transport-sector climate neutrality and the use of data to guide decision-making. Together, we will try to pave the way for aligning transport measures with the 2030 climate goals and translating them into concrete action at the local level.
