Kernu Mõis OÜ (Kernu Manor Hotel & SPA) – Kohatu, Harju County, Estonia
Kernu Mõis OÜ, a private hotel and SPA operating out of a historic manor house in Kohatu, Harju County, Estonia, carried out a window renovation and reglazing project alongside the installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels. Given the nature of the old manor building, the works were carried out in phases over an extended period, requiring external experts and adherence to basic safety considerations. The primary challenge encountered was financial, which was partially addressed through a combination of EU co-funding and own financing.
The total investment came to approximately €20,000, covering both the window renovation and PV panel installation. The project is estimated to generate around €2,500 in annual savings, primarily through reduced electricity purchases from the grid, with full payback expected to take more than 3 years. Beyond cost savings, the implementation has brought increased comfort.
