Training program for Energy Practitioners
17 October 2025
The Easy Energy project is in piloting phase of its Energy Practitioners training programme, designed to equip local experts with the knowledge and tools needed to implement energy efficiency solutions across the Baltic Sea Region. The training materials are now fully accessible online via a structured Padlet platform (link to Padlet). The platform provides comprehensive resources, including documents, slide decks, checklists, and quizzes, all organized into clear sections for ease of use.

The overall build of the Training consists of the following sections:
- Basic Concepts:
- Covers sustainability principles, EU-level requirements, and national frameworks.
- Explains challenges in the building sector and highlights the need for simple, cost-effective measures.
- Best Practices – Building Insulation:
- Includes detailed guides and diagrams showing typical problem areas.
- Provides a detailed overview of Easy Energy solutions in this category
- Best Practices – Electricity, Water and Heating
- Offers concise instructions for reducing energy and water consumption.
- Provides a detailed overview of Easy Energy solutions in this category
- Behavioural Aspects:
- Provides tools for public engagement and methods to influence consumption habits.
- Soft Skills:
- Focuses on communication techniques and advising methods.
- Covers professional competencies needed for working with municipalities and SMEs.
- Includes scenario cards to simulate real-world interactions.
The pilot training event took place on October 16–17, 2025, in Poland, bringing together 27 participants from eight countries. The group included representatives from local authorities, energy offices, chambers of commerce, advisory centres, and housing organisations.
The two-day programme followed the curriculum’s structure, combining presentations, group exercises, and case studies. Speakers from Poland, Germany, Latvia, Denmark, Lithuania, and Finland contributed to the sessions, enabling participants to compare administrative systems, building types, and practices across regions.
Following the pilot event, participants are now applying their training in their respective workplaces. This phase is important for evaluating the practical application of the training content and identifying areas for further refinement. In the next phase, an online meeting will be held to facilitate cross-border exchange, allowing participants to share experiences, discuss challenges, and propose adjustments to the programme.
The cross-border setup provided valuable insights into how different regions address similar challenges. A full evaluation of the pilot phase is underway and will inform the final adjustments to the programme, ensuring it is ready for broader implementation across the Baltic Sea Region.
This initiative marks a significant step in building a network of qualified Energy Practitioners who can support municipalities, SMEs, and other stakeholders in adopting energy-efficient solutions and contributing to a more sustainable future.
