New BioBoosters publication showcases results of the second piloting round across the Baltic Sea Region
01 December 2025
The BioBoosters partnership has released a new publication, “BioBoosters Impact Review 2025,” presenting the key outcomes and learnings from the project’s second piloting round, during which again nine business-driven hackathons were organised across the Baltic Sea Region.
Building on the foundations established during the first pilots, the second round further demonstrated how the BioBoosters open-innovation model enables companies to address real circularity challenges with support from regional innovation partners and an international network of experts.
The publication summarises insights gained from implementing the hackathons, highlighting how participating companies, innovation teams and mentors benefitted from the cross-regional cooperation enabled through the BioBoosters framework. It also showcases additional activities carried out by Jamk University of Applied Sciences, including methodological development, facilitation support and coordination of international learning processes.
Like the earlier Impact Review 2024, this new report emphasises the value of bringing together industry needs, regional smart specialisation strategies and transnational knowledge exchange. It documents practical lessons learned, factors that contributed to successful challenge solving, and recommendations for further refining and scaling the BioBoosters approach.
As the BioBoosters project reaches its final phase, the publication highlights how the strengthened piloting model and the collaborative practices developed throughout the process will continue to support circular innovation within the BioBoosters network beyond the project’s lifetime.
