EnTRA Project Launches: Uniting 18 Energy Projects for Climate Neutrality in the Baltic Sea Region
HAMBURG, GERMANY – The Energy Transition for Climate Neutrality (EnTRA) Project has officially launched, marking a significant milestone in Baltic Sea Region cooperation. This ambitious Interreg Baltic Sea Region Project Platform brings together 18 energy projects under one comprehensive initiative, creating unprecedented opportunities for knowledge sharing and policy development.
Comprehensive Platform for Energy Solutions
The EnTRA Project establishes four key pillars designed to accelerate climate neutrality across the region:
Resource Hub: A comprehensive platform for sharing energy transition solutions, making proven methodologies accessible to municipalities, businesses, and organizations throughout the Baltic Sea Region.
Policy Recommendations: Development of strategic recommendations aimed at breaking down institutional and regulatory barriers that currently hinder energy transition implementation.
Institutional Ambassadors Program: A structured program ensuring long-term impact and sustainability of energy transition initiatives beyond individual project lifecycles.
Knowledge Community: Creation of a continuous learning network facilitating ongoing implementation support and cross-border knowledge exchange.
Strong Partnership Foundation
The project launched with a successful kick-off meeting in Hamburg, hosted by Lead Partner HafenCity Universität Hamburg (HCU). The diverse partnership consortium includes leading institutions across the Baltic Sea Region, from technical universities and energy agencies to municipal associations and cultural organizations.
Key partners include the Institute of Energy Systems and Environment of Riga Technical University, ZEBAU GmbH, Tartu Regional Energy Agency, CEESEN, Hanse-Parlament, Union of the Baltic Cities, Association of Municipalities of Małopolska Region, Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture, and European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation NOVUM.
Collaboration Opportunities
EnTRA actively seeks additional partners and stakeholders interested in contributing to the region’s energy transition journey. The project offers multiple collaboration pathways for organizations committed to climate neutrality and sustainable energy solutions.
The initiative represents a significant investment in transnational cooperation, leveraging the collective expertise of 18 energy projects to create scalable, replicable solutions for the entire Baltic Sea Region.
