Fifth real-time economy conference prepared entrepreneurs for new services
28 November 2025
On 26 November 2025, the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications hosted the fifth Real-Time Economy Conference “Achieving Results Together”. The event brought together representatives from the public and private sectors to jointly advance data-driven services and increase entrepreneurs’ readiness to adopt them.
The conference presented the Real-Time Economy vision for 2030 and explored how data-driven reporting practices were evolving. Key topics also included the secure and lawful reuse of data, as well as the profitability of digitalisation and automation in business, covering e-invoices, eCMRs and digital product passports.
The conference also featured a workshop introducing the ESG Tool platform funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme. The session provided an overview of the tool’s core functionalities, a practical demo on creating a company profile and conducting a double materiality assessment, and practical recommendations on how companies could use the tool to take their next steps on their sustainability journey.
According to Minister of Economic Affairs and Industry Erkki Keldo, digitalisation was an inevitable step for any company wishing to remain competitive. “If we have the opportunity to let artificial intelligence or another smart digital solution handle time-consuming and repetitive data processing, then we must make use of it. Instead of paperwork, valuable resources can be directed toward activities that create the greatest value and increase productivity. The state ensured the necessary environment for the automatic and secure movement of data and created opportunities for digital data exchange. Companies also needed to do their part by adopting, for example, e-invoices or software that enabled data to move automatically between the state and the enterprise,” Keldo explained.
The Real-Time Economy Conference targeted forward-thinking entrepreneurs who wished to understand the power of data and adopt solutions that supported daily business operations and created new value. The conference also presented the Real-Time Economy science awards.
“High-quality and up-to-date data allowed companies to see beyond their day-to-day operations. Data supported better decision-making, helped assess environmental impacts, and created room for new services and business models. And most importantly—by acting together, sharing, and using data wisely, we could shape an economic environment that was stronger, more innovative, and more sustainable for everyone,” said Viktoria Bõstrjak-Butorina, Head of the Real-Time Economy domain at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
Also, an EXPO area was set up in the Noblessner Foundry, highlighting innovative solutions and cooperation opportunities aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth. Visitors were able to explore local service providers, make new connections, and find potential cooperation partners. Exhibitors at the EXPO included ESG Tool, Merit Aktiva, Arveldaja OÜ, Account Stuudio, OIXIO Digital AS, Standard Books (Excellent), Lean Digital, RiskSight, and the National Library of Estonia.
