Central Finland Circular Economy fair

The Central Finland Circular Economy Fair, hosted at in the Aalto Hall in Jyväskylä, brought together a wide range of circular economy experts, companies and organizations. The event provided a comprehensive overview of how the circular economy is progressing in (Central) Finland, from practical solutions to research and future visions. The Central Finland Circular Economy Fair showed that the region has a strong desire and ability to promote sustainable business and develop new solutions through resource wisdom, data and technology. Networking, practical examples and inspiring speeches laid the foundation for even closer cooperation in the future. There were 90 participants and 12 exhibitors, a diverse group of actors from startups to research organizations and large companies.

During the morning, speeches were heard on topics such as sustainable procurement, critical raw materials and regional circular economy initiatives. The afternoon program included interesting speeches on biomass, recycling of electronics waste and the use of artificial intelligence. Keynote speech was given by the climate ambassador Timo Huhtamäki. Pekka Matilainen from the Regional Council of Central Finland and Timi Tiira from the City of Jyväskylä presented the possibilities of the GreenIndustrialAreas project in promoting the circular economy in industrial areas.
