Latvian national stakeholder meeting

A discussion was held on the development of green industrial zones and the certification of territories, which is an important step in the development of a sustainable economy in Latvia. The main topics of the discussion included sustainability standards for industrial areas, the role of the public sector, and the experience that promotes environmentally friendly business practices.

The discussion was organized by the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LPS) in collaboration with the Zemgale Planning Region (ZPR), based on the project "GreenIndustrialAreas" aimed at developing climate-neutral and environmentally friendly industrial areas. The goal of the meeting was to promote an effective and coordinated approach to the development of green industrial zones across the country. As noted by LPS representative Andra Feldmane, Business Advisor, this initiative is crucial for enhancing Latvia's competitiveness by attracting investments and creating new jobs.

The discussion was attended by the Zemgale Planning Region project team, "Laflora", "NP Properties", "Gren", and other industry experts, who shared their experiences in creating green industrial parks. The interest shown by local government representatives is a testament to the importance of this approach. More than 90 participants from municipalities across Latvia attended the discussion.
