Description
Zemgale Planning Region and Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development are organizing a meeting of the stakeholders involved in the GIA project in Latvia. The aim of the project is to develop and implement a standard for the certification of green industrial zones in order to promote their focus on climate neutrality and widely introduce innovations for reducing CO2 emissions in industrial areas. The agenda covers key topics related to sustainability regulations and the GIA project. It includes an overview of sustainability regulations in certification, the current status and scope of the GIA project, and an example of the GIA pilot area with its compliance to established criteria. Additionally, it discusses the implementation of certification and the development of relevant standards for green industrial zones.
