DistanceLab talking cybersecurity at ITK2025

DistanceLab will give a speech about cybersecurity in remote work at Finland's largest event for digital education and learning, the ITK Conference and Exhibition, will be held in Tampere in April 2025 – welcome!

ITK Conference

Laura Palovuori and Leena Toivanen from the Centria DistanceLab team will talk about Digital safety culture for thriving remote work communities. Their turn in the program is 24.3. at 4:30.

The Talk aims to provide views and insights to following questions: Why soft skills are a key talent for cyber security developer? Why soft skills are transferrable skills for everyone aiming to become cyber security professional? The Talk is based on a survey for entrepreneurs, job applicants and employees in which they shared their views on their expectations on digital safety practices and their own role as a promoter of cyber security in work places. The different views provided a comprehensive vision that cyber security is not just a technical issue but largely a matter of human behaviors. Therefore the key skills of a cyber security professional lie in understanding these aspects. The Talk is an excellent opportunity for anyone to re-think their ways of working and how the cyber security aspects affect their wellbeing. It is especially valuable for someone aiming towards cyber security field, especially making a leap from another field.

The Talk is based on the work and survey done in DistanceLAB project, funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region. DistanceLAB project provides organizations with free online tools to develop their remote business in three aspects: communication&innovation, sustainability and remote business strategy. All tools are available and interconnected. We are excited to discuss more on how positive digital safety culture in work place enables innovative and happy work community. DistanceLAB project is led by Centria University of Applied Sciences and Talk is given by project manager Leena Toivanen and cyber security pilot owner Laura Palovuori.
