RIX Riga Airport explores legislative framework for hydrogen in aviation

RIX Riga Airport as one of project “BSR HyAirport” partners has elaborated a Feasibility study on the requirements of the national and international legal framework for the use of hydrogen at airports.

This is first overview on the Latvia’s and international legal framework, analysing the requirements for the use of hydrogen on EU legal acts (regulations, directives), strategic documents, Latvia’s national legal acts (laws, Cabinet of Ministers’ regulations), national planning documents and various standards.

The document will be analysed and further explored by other partners and legal experts outside the partnership and could serve as basis for drafting the project activity 1.1. deliverable.

Initial conclusions on gaps and recommendations are included, but will be discussed with target groups in Latvia in future discussions.
