Award for Sweden’s Best Honey Shop
10 September 2024
A big congratulations to Lina Norrsell and “linas och binas” who have received the Swedish Beekeepers Association’s (Swedish Bees) award for Sweden’s Best Honey Shop in the Honey Destination category for their new knowledge garden in Brösarp!
“Linas och binas” is one of the six local businesses receiving development support from Krinova in the Bascil project. “Linas och binas” is a local beekeeper based in the village of Sillaröd in southern Sweden, where they produce organic honey and bee pollen.
In line with the purpose of the Bascil project, “linas och binas” has taken a significant step in transforming and expanding its business with an attractive offering for visiting tourists. They have expanded their beekeeping operations with a knowledge garden where visitors can learn about the environment and biodiversity, and, last but not least, observe live bees up close.
Through the Swedish Beekeepers Association (Swedish Bees), Sweden’s beekeepers have created a joint platform to market Swedish honey and inform consumers about the bees’ vital role in pollination.
The motivation for the award:
“In Sillaröd, Österlen, Lina and her family have created a place focused on bees, honey, and biodiversity. The inspiring knowledge garden starts as soon as you enter the farm, and from there, you can follow an educational trail from the display beehive out to the vegetable garden and horse pastures. The shop offers honey from the farm, sheepskins, ice cream, and coffee. A perfect destination for both children and adults who want to learn more about bees, honey, and nature in a fun way.”
