Now available in 12 languages: Short and easy to understand guide with facts about plug-in PV in Germany

01 August 2024
As part of the PV4ALL project, the Hamburg-based partners ZEBAU GmbH and the Lawaetz Foundation have developed an easy-to-understand guide to balcony solar systems to raise people's awareness of solar energy and encourage them to consider the option of balcony power plants.
Technical details

The target group for the guide are primarily people with lower income and few opportunities to participate in the energy transition. However, it is precisely this target group that would be most likely to benefit from the financial advantages of balcony power plants. The general problem is often one of reaching a large number of people. In addition, existing guidelines are usually written in a very complex language and are often impossible to understand for non-native speakers.

Therefore, PV4All has developed a guide in plain language and translated it into several languages. The guide briefly summarizes basic facts and legal aspects and lists contacts to institutions and experts who can advise on further questions.

The guide is available as a small leaflet and a larger poster, and is accessible in 11 languages through a QR code on the leaflet. The leaflet is distributed via the Lawaetz Foundation’s various district offices, as some of the offices are located in areas eligible for Integrated Neighborhood Development (federal RISE program) and can reach people with lower incomes and/or who do not own their own homes.

The aim of the guide is to find pioneers who can then act as multipliers by increasing the number of balcony power plants on balconies, so that other people automatically start thinking about them.
