PV4All partner meeting in Malmö

18 June 2024
From 19 to 20 June of this year, the last partner meeting in presence was on the agenda. To this end, the six PV4All project partners came together in Malmö, where the Sustainable Business Hub had prepared an exciting agenda.
Technical details

The meeting had two main focal points. The first was to get an idea of the situation regarding the use of PV energy on site in Malmö. In this context, two exciting approaches in particular remain in our minds. These include the City of Malmö’s ambitious and binding approach to equipping public buildings with PV systems. The commitment and structured approach, which begins with a comprehensive potential analysis of all buildings and thus leads to a well-founded decision-making process, is particularly noteworthy. Commitment is also created through concrete goals and defined measures, which also directly include a budget for the expansion. This development is extremely positive and sets an example for other cities and municipalities. We were able to experience another exciting approach on site when an architect discussed the aesthetic aspects of PV modules with us. Specifically, we were talking about Bulding-integrated PV modules, which are no longer visually recognisable as PV modules and can therefore be perfectly integrated into façades without changing the cityscape. Here, too, we see great potential for easing the conflict over urban land use and increasing the use of PV energy.

On the other hand, we wanted to use the opportunity of the meeting to prepare the project conclusion together and to define which tasks are still open in order to look back on a successful project in a few months’ time. In this process, we were able to find several pieces of the puzzle that were still missing from our project. It was particularly helpful for us to look beyond the project duration. We want to create results that will remain useful and helpful when PV4All is ending and are focussing our efforts in the coming weeks and months on preparing the knowledge we have gained in such a way that it will still be available for various stakeholders in the future.
