On May 16, 2024, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern chapter of the German Logistics Association (Bundesvereinigung Logistik, BVL) and Stena Line GmbH & CO KG organized an event in the port of Rostock. Participants were invited to observe the loading and unloading processes of the ferry MS Skane, gaining firsthand experience of Stena Line’s diverse cargo portfolio, which includes trailers, trucks, vans, and conventional rail wagons.

During a 90-minute port stay, attendees explored the intricacies of the ferry’s operations. Following this practical demonstration, guests were given a tour of the ferry’s bridge, where the captain provided insights and answered questions.

The event continued with speeches from key figures such as Philipp Johannsen of BVL, Katrin Verner (Freight Commercial Manager CE, Stena Line), and Ilias Xiros (Port Operation Manager, Stena Line Stevedoring). Additionally, Christopher Schnur (Rail Coordinator, Stena Line) introduced the Interreg Project Blue Supply Chains to the guests.

The official proceedings concluded with networking opportunities, allowing participants to connect while enjoying snacks and drinks. This event offered a unique chance for local logistics companies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to engage and gain valuable insights.
