Description
The Train the Trainer
Following extensive analysis and research, a training programme was designed to provide employees of business support organisations (BSOs) with the knowledge and abilities necessary to successfully integrate refugees into the local workforce.
In September of 20023, 14 people attended the training over the course of two days. The programme was guided by trained facilitators and included simulated interactions between NGOs, businesses, and BSOs through role-playing activities.
Two organisations, Diversity Development Group and International House Vilnius, were invited to share their good practices in Vilnius.
The programme covered important ground, including how to build productive relationships with NGOs, how to communicate with refugees, how to approach local businesses as possible employers, and how to give refugees the tools they need to pursue entrepreneurial goals.
The most up-to-date information was incorporated into the curriculum right before it was implemented to keep it relevant and ensure that the material successfully addressed the most pressing issues at the time.
The participants placed great importance on the exchange of experiences among themselves representing four distinct countries. As a result, the group activity that was originally designed for each country was subdivided into smaller transnational groups. For the completion of the training course, the knowledge gained from the initial training will prove invaluable in the subsequent training.
