14 July 2023
An interdisciplinary method that inspires municipalities around the Baltic Sea Region.
Technical details

Since the BSR Food Coalition project kick-off, in Tartu, a county level lead-group has been created and led by project partner the Association of Municipalities of Tartu county, which gathers 8 municipality representatives, 3 smallholder farmers’ union representatives and representatives from Tartu County Development Association. This gives a full perspective of the importance of Farm to School work on a local government stage.

The study trip to Copenhagen this spring, was to understand better the “Copenhagen Model”. A very rewarding visit that opened the mind-sets on the importance of cross-sector collaboration for successful sustainable school food systems. Thanks to the transfer of knowledge and understanding of the impact the positive “Copenhagen House of Food” has had, all Tartu county Mayors are determined and commited to increase the cross-sector collaboration towards a more regional Farm to School system.
