Interreg pays off!

Explore how people in the Baltic Sea region have been benefitting from our projects.

Transnational cooperation at its best

First projects completed,
first solutions in active use!

The first 17 projects have finalised their implementation. From protecting our environment to building a stronger and more resilient region for future generations, our small projects have delivered tangible results and visibly changed the regional landscape for the better.

We’ve wrapped up the achievements of our projects to provide you with an overview of project achievements.

Innovative, sustainable & healthy societies!

From building sustainable food systems and improving access to healthy food (Stratkit+, BSR Food Coalition), through smoother integration of immigrants into regional markets (Prosper BSR), to strengthening the role of cultural institutions in societies (BaMuR) and giving voice to the youth in shaping their environments (UrbanTestbeds.Jr): this is how Interreg is making our societies and economies more resilient, stronger, healthier – and open to the needs of people across generations.

Smarter, cleaner and safer waters!

Assessing Baltic Sea water quality (BEACON), removing pharmaceuticals and micropollutants (AdlQwater), protecting lakes from tourism-related pollution (Lakes connect), and shaping visions for sustainable growth in boating tourism (BaltSusBoating 2030), Interreg brought in practical solutions to keep Baltic Sea waters clean and resilient. Sailing across it also becomes safer thanks to harmonised gravity data (BalMarGrav).

Circular and climate-neutral practices & resilient energy systems!

Advancing circular and green public procurement (ChemClimCircle), anchoring circular bioeconomy (BREC) and regenerative practices in agriculture (Blue-Green Bio Lab) to reduce its footprint, and bringing glass fibre waste back into use (Glass Circle). Strengthening the region’s energy security through a coordinated offshore wind–hydrogen system (BOWE2H), boosting biomethane and hydrogen markets (BEST ACE), and improving access to solar energy (PV 4 All) — all made possible with Interreg solutions!
