WaterMan at EUSBSR Annual Forum 2023 in Riga
11 October 2023
The lead partner of the WaterMan project Mr. Tobias Facchini took part in the EUSBSR Annual Forum of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region which was in Riga.
At the Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) in Riga, European Commissioner Elisa Ferreira urged participants to engage in shaping the future of the EU’s Cohesion Policy. Interreg Baltic Sea Region is already actively supporting this goal through transnational cooperation projects that address regional challenges.
During the forum, Interreg hosted a session highlighting how projects like PURE, SEMPRE, Waterman, and KidsLikeUs contribute to solving issues such as wastewater treatment, sustainable water use, and support for disadvantaged groups. Participants emphasized the importance of collaboration, network-building, and shared learning to address these challenges effectively.
WaterMan project raises new challenges connected to reused water. “We need to change the mindset and learn to use, not only fresh water but water of different qualities for various purposes,” explained Tobias Facchini from Waterman.
WaterMan is proud and happy to be a part of such an event and promote water-reuse at such a large forum – and we’re looking forward to contributing to future EUSBSR & other EU events with information about water reuse in BSR.
