The SUMPs for BSR project has opened a second call for the SUMP Clinic – a free, tailored support for your city — and continues its free—of—charge five-module SUMP Training Programme.
With a few Clinic slots still available, now is the perfect moment for cities to join and accelerate their transition toward more sustainable transport systems.
Why this matters right now
Small and medium-sized cities often face the same challenge: the ambition for urban mobility planning is high, but time, expertise, and resources are limited.
These two opportunities are designed especially to help cities that:
- do not yet have a SUMP,
- are preparing their first SUMP,
- are updating an existing SUMP,
- or are struggling with implementation and follow-through.
Both the SUMP Clinic and the Training Programme offer highly practical, hands-on support
Two Easy Ways to Start Strengthening Your City’s Mobility Planning:
Apply for the SUMP Clinic – Tailored Expert Guidance for Your City

- Guidance matched to local challenges
- Examples relevant to your city’s context
- Support for starting or strengthening SUMP development
→ Apply till 20.02.2026 to secure one of the remaining spots.
Join the Free SUMP Training Programme (January–May 2026)
The five-module online training gives city representatives, planners, and mobility professionals a full overview of essential SUMP competencies.
Each module includes:
- expert-led webinars,
- interactive workshops,
- real-life examples from European cities,
- practical tools and exercises.
- opportunity for networking and peer exchange.
Upcoming modules cover data collection for active modes, piloting and experimentation, and stakeholder engagement. Participation is free of charge and open to everyone. For cities preparing, updating or implementing a SUMP, this training is a valuable way to build skills and learn about European best practices.
