SmartAging Podcast #27 Invoke Senior-Friendly furniture concept

Poznan university of Life Sciences, Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w Poznaniu, presents, a new senior-friendly furniture concept developed within the hashtag#SmartAging project.

The concept combines a partition wall, acoustic screens, seating and storage in one multifunctional piece of furniture. A chest beneath the seat provides additional storage and features a soft-close mechanism for safer and more comfortable use. By dividing larger spaces and reducing noise, the furniture can help create calmer, cozier and more welcoming indoor environments. Seats on both sides also provide convenient temporary resting places in corridors, community rooms and other shared areas.

The concept reflects the goals of hashtag#SmartAging by exploring how user-centred furniture and thoughtful indoor design can support seniors’ comfort, safety, independence and social participation in everyday life. Developed by hashtag#PULS as part of the hashtag#SmartAging project.
