Second Transnational Partner Meeting in the Cultural Pearl Jakobstad, Finland

The REAVES project has taken the next step on the way to increasing visibility and impact of the results of the 22 projects fuelling REAVES and interconnecting the creative economy sectors of film, game and music. During our second transnational partner workshop from 23 to 25 March 2026 on the picturesque shores of the Baltic Sea near the cultural pearl Jakobstad/Pietarsaari, Finland, we deepened our understanding for the sectors’ structural differences and similarities as well as started elaborating on our roadmap towards activating the quintuple helix. While the first retreat workshop in September 2025 was characterised by getting to know and understand the different projects and finding a shared language and vision, this meeting focused on determining how the tools and results can be combined, improved and strengthened in REAVES. Next to the half-frozen sea and underneath the spectacular Northern Lights, lively discussions were held, experiences with incubation and acceleration programmes were exchanged to be presented in new activities that were sketched and planned. In parallel, topics and approach with the regions (in the triple helix composition) were reviewed for respective activities in Lituania, Central Denmark, Stockholm and Tampere and discussed among partners. Upcoming events this year to be attended and workshops to be executed by REAVES members are the Networking Village at the BSSSC Day of  Cities and Regions and a breakout session at the EUSBSR Annual Forum. Further activities in the planning for this year, are with Gamescom, Reeperbahn Festival, Music Frontiers, MusicXMedia and more.

We look forward to continuing our shared road towards a better connection between sectors, regions and stakeholders in the digital content sectors and the quintuple helix!

REAVES builds on the outcomes of 22 previous projects, such as BSG-Go!, MI-RAP, Nordic Music Creators, Distance LAB, CDG Booster, Fair Game, Strategies, AV Growth, TAB, South Baltic Creative Cluster, Active Creative, Qvarken Game Lab, Indie Plaza, BSGI, BGI, Kvarken Film Network, Qvarken Game Industry, Professionalizing European Game Developers and X Border Support 4 Games.
