PestSpace for Farmers: What Could Change in the Field?

Farmers don’t need more data for the sake of data. They need useful information that can complement their knowledge, experience and decisions in the field.

What We Are Working On

This is where PestSpace comes in.

The project is developing a system that brings together information from the field, environmental DNA and machine learning to help identify plant health threats and share information more quickly.

Three key elements are coming together:

• Field observations and images: Collecting information directly from the field,
• eDNA diagnostics: Using environmental DNA to help detect plant health threats,
• AI and machine learning: Supporting the analysis and identification of plant pests and diseases.

From Data to Decisions

By bringing these elements together, PestSpace aims to provide earlier warnings, more accessible information and practical support for crop protection decisions.

The goal is not to replace farmers’ knowledge and experience. It is to give them better information to support their decisions.
