Pest Common Data Space for Recording and Sharing Information on Plant Pests and Pathogens Emerging in the Baltic Sea Region.
The presentation highlighted the vision and objectives of the PestSpace project, focusing on the development of a shared digital environment that supports the collection, exchange and use of plant health data across the Baltic Sea Region. Participants learned how the Common Data Space can strengthen cooperation between researchers, plant protection specialists, authorities and other stakeholders involved in monitoring emerging pests and pathogens.
The lecture also showcased how harmonised and accessible data can contribute to earlier detection of threats, improved risk assessment and more effective responses to plant health challenges affecting agriculture, forestry and natural ecosystems in the region.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with an international audience interested in sustainability, environmental protection and innovative digital solutions. It also contributed to the promotion and visibility of the PestSpace project and its objectives highlighting the importance of transnational cooperation and EU support in addressing shared environmental challenges.
We thank everyone who attended the lecture and look forward to continuing the conversation on how data sharing can support healthier and more resilient ecosystems across the Baltic Sea Region.
