In the Field with Farmers: PestSpace 4th Stakeholder Workshop in Chrząstowo, Poland

23 June 2026
The 4th PestSpace Stakeholder Workshop was held on 28 May 2026 in Chrząstowo, Poland at the Experimental Variety Testing Station (SDOO). The meeting took place within the framework of the "What grows in the field" field event.
Technical details

During the event, participants visited experimental plots, including winter wheat, faba bean, and other crops. These are among the crop species selected within the PestSpace project for detailed research. Prof. Małgorzata Jędryczka (IGR, PAN) presented the project and discussed its objectives in the context of real agricultural conditions.

The discussions were open and informal, allowing for direct exchange between researchers, farmers, and stakeholders. The group conversation took place directly in the field and was not staged, reflecting real on-site interaction during the workshop.

Media coverage was provided by Polish Radio Pomorza i Kujaw, which visited the event on site. Prof. Jędryczka was first recorded during the group discussion with farmers, and later interviewed individually, as the journalist became interested in the topics raised and asked for additional explanations.

Interesting information on faba beans and winter wheat was also provided by Mr Daniel Krauklis from the Experimental Variety Testing Station, who manages the fields in Chrząstowo on a daily basis.
