OpenRisk II Partner Meeting in Tallinn

The OpenRisk II project partner meeting took place in Tallinn, Estonia, on October 15-16, 2024, hosted by the Estonian Marine Institute of the University of Tartu.

On the first day, the project partners briefly outlined the activities they are working on. The presentations covered the following topics: a summary of the model/tool/work, current activities, challenges, and future plans.

After the presentations, the participants worked in groups on key project activities:

One group, consisting of Traficom, NDPTL, the Norwegian Coastal Administration, Aalto University, Gdansk University of Technology, as well DNV as an external expert, focused on the new AISyRISK Baltic module for ice.

Another group, consisting of the University of Tartu, the University of Helsinki, and Traficom discussed the ongoing development of the online tool to assess the vulnerability of marine ecosystems to maritime oil spills. They also reviewed the status and design choices for the user-friendly web-based software for the R-Mare Matrix.

The first day concluded with the groups reconvening to discuss their key project activities.

At the beginning of the second day, project management and reporting were discussed. This was followed by a discussion on the dates and locations for upcoming meetings. Group work then resumed, and after its completion, the meeting ended with a final discussion and closure.
