KISMET Key Messages

Technical details

Our KISMET partners have identified three central messages that underpin the project´s efforts to create resilient, inclusive and sustainable food systems across the Baltic Sea region.

1. Strengthening Sustainable Food Systems through Collaboration
KISMET is built on the Quadruple Helix approach, bringing together governments, businesses, academia, and civil society to co-create resilient, inclusive, and environmentally conscious food systems. Through local innovation partnerships and data-driven decision-making, our regions are demonstrating the transformative potential of collaboration.

2. Empowering Local Food Producers and Consumers
The project strengthens local food production, increases transparency, and promotes circular consumption. By developing regional procurement strategies, mapping local producers, and implementing educational initiatives, KISMET bridges the gap between producers and consumers.

3. Practical Tools for Transformative Change
KISMET translates ideas into actionable solutions. Pilot projects across the Baltic Sea region—from food waste reduction programs in Finland to plant-based culinary training in Denmark—serve as replicable models for creating sustainable food environments. By integrating data, policy, and practice, KISMET empowers communities to actively shape circular food systems.
