Frankfurt, September 2025 – The World Summit on Food and Nutrition Technology, hosted by Peoples Events, became a powerful platform for dialogue, exchange, and collaboration around sustainable food systems. Among the highlights was our partner Eva Keretic’s presentation “Transforming Food Systems for a Sustainable Future” introducing the KISMET Toolkit for Sustainable Food Environments, developed over the past three years with the support of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme.

Representing Foodworks e.V. and the Hamburg Local Innovation Partnership (LIP), Eva Keretic not only introduced the toolkit but also shared hands-on experiences from the KISMET network. The toolkit is designed to support municipalities, policymakers, and stakeholders in creating more sustainable and resilient food environments across the Baltic Sea Region and beyond.

“After years of collaboration, it was a real milestone to finally present the KISMET toolkit in such an international forum. What matters most now is inviting others to take it up, to use it, and to make it their own in shaping sustainable food environments. We warmly welcome stakeholders, policymakers, and practitioners to explore it and join the journey.” – Eva Keretic

The summit also featured discussions on regenerative and organic farming, circular food design, and cellular agriculture — all key topics that align with KISMET’s mission of transforming food systems. One striking example was Vivatra’s work in turning apple waste into natural replacements for additives in ice cream and beyond, demonstrating how circular economy principles can unlock new opportunities.

The participation of KISMET at this global summit demonstrates the growing recognition of the project’s outcomes and its role in equipping cities, regions, and stakeholders with practical tools to design sustainable food environments.

👉 The Toolkit for Sustainable Food Environments is now available for municipalities, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore and apply in their local contexts.
