1st HAZGONE Platform Forum to launch active cooperation on hazardous substances governance

15 January 2026
Technical details

The HAZGONE Platform invites key stakeholders working on hazardous substances and micropollutants to the 1st HAZGONE Platform Forum, taking place on 16 April 2026 in Hamburg.

This one-day, in-person forum will mark the official launch of the active use of the HAZGONE platform, bringing together project partners, policy representatives, experts and practitioners from across the Baltic Sea Region. The event will focus on how existing knowledge, tools and results from Interreg and related initiatives can be shared, transferred into policy processes and used more effectively in practice.

Why join?

The forum will:

  • introduce the HAZGONE platform philosophy and working logic as a shared space for cooperation,

  • explore how project results can remain visible and useful beyond their funding period,

  • strengthen links between upstream prevention (e.g. substitution, product policy) and downstream action (e.g. monitoring, treatment),

  • and support cross-sector exchange among authorities, NGOs, researchers, water professionals and other stakeholders.

The HAZGONE Platform is an Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme project that builds on the outcomes of multiple Interreg and regional initiatives to promote a holistic approach to hazardous substances governance in the Baltic Sea Region.

Participation will be by invitation, ensuring a balanced mix of strategic and practical perspectives. More details on the venue, agenda and registration will follow.
