H2Deri@BSP introduces deliverables to associated partners for validation and testing

17 July 2026
H2Deri@BSP held its first associated partner meeting in 2026 to present key year-one deliverables, gather external stakeholder feedback, and initiate validation and bilateral follow-up activities for continued testing in year two.
Technical details

The project organised the first in a planned series of two associated partner virtual meetings to present and validate key deliverables developed in the project’s first year. The session marked an important step in transitioning from development to structured testing and stakeholder validation across the Baltic Sea Region.

The meeting brought together port authorities, operators, fuel suppliers, research organisations and consultants to review selected deliverables and provide early feedback from an external stakeholder perspective, supporting the refinement and practical relevance of the project deliverables during the testing phase.

Project deliverables in focus

  • Port bunkering mapping instrument (standardised feasibility and risk mapping approach for alternative fuel bunkering)
  • Methanol bunkering vessel specification (technical concept for port-based ship to ship bunkering operations)
  • Baltic ports bunkering guidebook (governance and implementation roadmap for safe bunkering operations)

The links to the presented deliverables are available at the end of this article, following the image section.

External stakeholder insights

The session provided the first consolidated opportunity for associated partners to review the deliverables from an external, operational perspective. Initial feedback highlighted practical considerations related to port feasibility, operational constraints, governance structures, and applicability of tools in real-world bunkering scenarios. These early insights are being used to identify areas for refinement and ensure that the outputs are aligned with both industry practice and regulatory expectations across the region.

Follow-up process and continued validation

The meeting also provided the opportunity to initiate bilateral follow-up interactions by the project partners with associated partners. These exchanges will continue throughout the second project year and will focus on targeted testing, technical clarification, and iterative validation of the deliverables.

A second such meeting is scheduled for 25 August, where remaining deliverables will be presented and further feedback will be collected to support continued development. This staged engagement approach ensures that H2Deri@BSP deliverables are progressively refined and validated in close cooperation with external stakeholders before wider application.
