Engaging stakeholders across the BSR in September 2025, promoting hydrogen-based solutions, renewable energy integration, and effective project communication.
Technical details

In August-September 2025, the H2Derivatives@BalticSeaPorts (H2Deri@BSP) project actively engaged in several events and outreach activities to strengthen stakeholder collaboration and promote the adoption of hydrogen-based fuels in Baltic Sea ports.

On 27 August 2025, the project participated in the Policy Area Energy Capacity‑Building Workshop, engaging directly with stakeholders of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) Policy Area Energy. The team presented the project’s focus on integrating hydrogen-derivative fuels into ports and discussed emerging regulatory, infrastructural, and market challenges with regional energy policymakers and practitioners.

On 9 September 2025, H2Deri@BSP took part in the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Storytelling Webinar, exploring effective communication strategies and storytelling techniques. The session provided valuable insights on how structured narratives can enhance the visibility and impact of project results, helping the team better communicate progress and achievements in advancing hydrogen-based solutions for ports.

The project was also featured in the NAUTICAL MAIL newsletter by EUSBSR Policy Area Ship, reaching out to the wider maritime community across the Baltic Sea Region. Through this feature, H2Deri@BSP invited stakeholders to participate in ongoing interviews and surveys, fostering dialogue with ports and logistics operators and supporting cooperation toward sustainable maritime transport.

Finally, on 25 September 2025, the project participated in the Sustainable Energy Hub partner conference “Unlocking Potential – Renewable Energies in the Port of Hamburg”, hosted by Hamburg Port Authority (HPA). The event brought together experts to discuss the integration of wind, solar, and thermal energy in port operations. H2Deri@BSP shared insights on hydrogen-based fuels and explored ways to link renewable energy solutions with port operations, contributing to the region’s transition to a sustainable maritime energy system.

Through these activities, September 2025 marked a productive month of engagement, communication, and knowledge exchange, strengthening H2Deri@BSP’s visibility and fostering cooperation with stakeholders across the Baltic Sea Region.
