Flip-EC Project with First Consortium Meeting to Flip Climate Change in the BSR
29 April 2025
On 27 March 2025, the Flip-EC consortium officially launched its collaboration with a vibrant online meeting, bringing together 11 project partners from six countries across the Baltic Sea Region (BSR). Funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2021-2027, Flip-EC — short for Flipped Energy Concept to Flip Climate Change — aims to reduce energy consumption in public buildings by encouraging behavioural change and strengthening local capacities.
The meeting, hosted by the lead partner Hanseatic City of Lübeck, served as the first major gathering of the consortium, which includes municipalities, innovation centres, development agencies, schools, and sustainability-focused organizations from Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, and Denmark.
Following a warm welcome from Lübeck’s project team, aconium, the project management consultant of Flip-EC, presented the Interreg BSR funding model and detailed the reporting procedures. Other topics have been the visibility and communication rules of the EU and an introduction in the project’s digital collaboration tool.
Looking ahead, the consortium confirmed the dates for the in-person kick-off meeting in Lübeck, scheduled for 7–9 May 2025. The event will combine collaborative work sessions with local exploration, providing partners an opportunity to deepen their cooperation and set the tone for the project’s three-year journey to deliver meaningful energy savings and environmental impact across the BSR.
