The energy transition often starts with a simple question: Where do we begin?

As part of the Energy Circle project, Business Fredericia builds on this role by helping companies take the first steps toward a more structured and long-term energy transition.

Building the foundation locally

The work in Fredericia begins with understanding the local reality. Business Fredericia is in dialogue with SMEs, public institutions, consultancies, Fredericia Municipality and other stakeholders to map challenges, needs and ambitions related to energy use.

This phase is not just about gathering insights—it is about building relationships and a shared understanding of what the transition requires in practice. At the same time, a local pilot group is being established to bring together the stakeholders who will take part in the next stages of the project.

Many companies want to act—but lack a clear direction.

“We see a strong interest from companies who want to move forward, but they often don’t know where to start. Our role is to help structure that process and prepare them for what comes next.”
— Maria Bejer Clausen, Senior Consultant, Business Fredericia

By working closely with companies at this stage, Business Fredericia helps turn interest into readiness—creating the conditions needed for meaningful action later in the project.

Preparing for long-term change

While the work in Fredericia is still in its early stages, it contributes to a wider collaboration across the Baltic Sea Region. Energy Circle brings partners together to explore how regions can move from short-term decisions to more coordinated, long-term approaches.

With its experience in business development, stakeholder engagement and project implementation, Business Fredericia contributes by ensuring that solutions are grounded in real business needs and local conditions.

The experience from Fredericia will help shape this work. By grounding the project in real challenges and local collaboration, Business Fredericia ensures that future tools are not only relevant—but also usable in practice.

The transition does not happen overnight. But in Fredericia, the groundwork is already being laid—through dialogue, cooperation and a growing readiness to take the next step.
