Less Carbon - Double the Fun Forum in Tampere inspired and empowered
13 October 2026
In September 2026 CliNeDest project gathered 70 representatives of big and small tourism companies, destination management organisations, research and development in Tampere Hall at “Less Carbon – Double the Fun Forum. The event was not only full of fantastic speakers such as on-land travel influencer Ira Salminen, but also great company cases: Hotel Clarion Air, Norway, Marlis Soomets & Liina Kungla, Lux Express, Estonia and Eeva Kivikkola, Tampere Hall Events, Finland.
The Forum included also a workshop to co-create low carbon experiences with the help of AI and creative brains of the participants. Here are some examples of the numerous ideas that came as a result of the AI-supported brainstorming workshop:
SECRET PATHS: A playful journey for curious families. Follow a treasure map, solve fun challenges and discover hidden Places in the city, forests and on the water. Together you’ll reach a quiet island, stay in an off-grid cabin and find the final treasure under the stars.
MAKE BUSINESS TRIP A LONGER JOURNEY SUPPORTING LOCALS: Attend the conference, follow the Gap Map for Short adventures, and savour local food and culture.”
SECRET ESCAPE FOR TWO: A romantic slow-travel experience for couples Who want time together and enjoy meeting like-minded couples. Follow a treasure map to hidden spots, Iocal flavours and a peaceful island cabin. Share great food and wine, then set out by rowboat to a secret island for a special surprise under the stars.
The event continued the next days with a transnational exchange of experiences session for tourism tourism companies at Särkänniemi Amusement Park and with a partner meeting.
Climate Neutral Destinations project continues to test the online Climate Smart Business Toolkit. As a next step, each partner destination will invite their tourism companies to co-create low carbon offerings that will be developed from their existing services. We expect that CliNeDest workshops will create something new and empower tourism companies to work together to transform low carbon actions into successful tourism business.
