Residents Discuss Kerava's Draft Ecological Sustainability Programme

02 June 2026
Technical details

On 27 May, eight residents participated in a workshop organised to discuss the draft Ecological Sustainability Programme of Kerava. Participants reviewed proposed actions and contributed ideas related to climate, circularity, and biodiversity across sectors such as transport, construction, and urban planning.

Key proposals included increasing volunteer involvement in city initiatives, improving the recyclability of construction materials, and finding ways to reuse municipal furniture, computers, and other equipment rather than discarding them.

“When the city builds, it could take into account the recyclability of building materials, the same during the demolition phase. When the city throws away chairs, tables, computers, etc., instead of throwing them away, they could be recycled”. – resident of Kerava.
