CiNURGi connects with Sweden’s agricultural community at field events
17 August 2026
How can circular nutrient solutions become part of everyday agriculture? Connecting research, technology providers and farmers is an important step towards answering that question.
During the summer of 2026, the CiNURGi project was presented at two Swedish agricultural events: Borgeby Field Days and Brunnby Farmer Days. Both offered opportunities to share the project’s work, showcase practical approaches to nutrient recycling and exchange ideas with people working across the agricultural sector.
At Borgeby Field Days 24-25.6.26, one of Sweden’s largest agricultural events, CiNURGi contributed to the seminar “The Future of Fertilizers Is Here” and presented project activities and results at a dedicated stand. The seminar brought together researchers and industry representatives to discuss how locally produced circular fertilisers can contribute to a more resilient and sustainable agricultural sector. Contributions from Sanitation360 AB and VA SYD highlighted practical examples, innovative technologies and experiences demonstrating how circular nutrient solutions are emerging in agriculture as alternatives to conventional fertilisers. The session was moderated by Line Strand of Hushållningssällskapet Sverige and Ida Sylwan of RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, the CiNURGi project coordinator.
The event provided an opportunity to explore how nutrient recycling solutions can move from development towards practical use, while highlighting the role of cooperation between research and industry in advancing the transition.
CiNURGi was also presented at Brunnby Farmer Days 1-2.7.26. For CiNURGi, participation offered an opportunity to introduce the project to the agricultural community and engage in conversations about nutrient recycling and the circular economy. Discussions and encounters with people working in the sector are important for understanding practical needs and helping ensure that emerging solutions respond to real-world challenges.
Both events reflect a central ambition of CiNURGi: to support the wider uptake of recycled nutrient fertilisers by connecting research, businesses and end users. By participating in agricultural events, CiNURGi helps bring these topics into discussions with the people who can contribute to making nutrient recycling work in practice.
The project’s engagement with Sweden’s agricultural community is part of the broader effort to advance circular nutrient management and strengthen the use of recycled nutrients across the Baltic Sea Region.
