Technical details

On 22–23 January, the CCC-2 Core Group met in Hamburg for a two-day working meeting focused on strengthening the project’s overall direction and practical implementation.

The meeting provided an opportunity for project partners to step back and reflect on the project as a whole: what the ChemClimCircle approach is aiming to deliver, and how it should function in real-life public procurement settings. Discussions moved across strategic, organisational and operational levels, exploring how these perspectives connect and how they should inform procurement monitoring and environmental impact assessment.

Partners also aligned expectations related to piloting activities, timelines and procurement realities, openly acknowledging the legal, administrative and capacity constraints faced by public authorities. In this context, training and capacity-building were highlighted as essential elements to ensure that project solutions are not only innovative, but also practical, usable and transferable beyond the project’s lifetime.

The meeting concluded with a shared sense of direction and a clearer roadmap for the next steps, supporting the transition from conceptual work towards concrete implementation across pilot authorities in the Baltic Sea Region.
