Technical details

The “Creative Circular Cities” project participated in the Networking Village during the 2026 Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) and the BSSSC Day of Cities and Regions, which took place on 11-13 May in Tallinn.

The forum brought together more than 500 participants from across the Baltic Sea Region, including representatives of governments, cities and regional networks, policymakers, researchers and civil society organisations. The event focused on addressing some of the region’s most pressing interconnected challenges, including climate change, demographic shifts, governance, regional competitiveness, and security.

Together with the Policy Area Culture team and fellow projects, Creative Circular Cities presented its work in the Networking Village, sharing project insights, exchanging ideas and establishing new connections for future cooperation.

The main theme of this year’s forum was resilience, and discussions highlighted the importance of cross-sectoral and cross-border collaboration, as well as local action to strengthen climate and social resilience across the Baltic Sea Region. Projects such as “Creative Circular Cities” contribute to these efforts by translating strategic goals into practical initiatives that support circularity, sustainability and community engagement at the local level, while encouraging experience sharing among Baltic Sea Region cities.

The forum was organised by the EUSBSR together with the Council of the Baltic Sea States and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. The event was funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region, the City of Tallinn and the Council of the Baltic Sea States Secretariat.
