Creative Circular Cities completes Phase 1 of pioneering Pre-Commercial Procurement

The Creative Circular Cities (CCC) project has successfully concluded Phase 1 of its Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) process, marking an important step toward the development of innovative circular economy solutions for cities across the Baltic Sea Region.
Phase 1 focused on solution design and brought together selected contractors from across Europe to further develop concepts addressing the following challenge as described in the tendering documents:Â creating an accessible and unified platform that helps citizens discover and use circular economy services more easily.
The five contractors selected for Phase 1 — Comat Studio (Germany), INC Innovation Center (Germany), Superhood Oy (Finland), Zero Waste Latvija (Latvia), and Zirobio (Estonia) — worked closely with the CCC Buyers’ Group through mentoring sessions and collaborative check-ins to refine their proposals and align them with needs of the Buyers’ group.
Following the evaluation of the Phase 1 results, the PCP process will now continue with Phase 2: Prototype Development and Testing, where the two contractors with the highest ranked Phase 2 offer will further advance and validate their solutions in real-life urban contexts.
