Ukrainian Women Turning Entrepreneurial Dreams into Reality in Norway
21 February 2025
After completing an intensive entrepreneurship program with local support, several Ukrainian women are now on the brink of establishing their own businesses.
With guidance from Vindel AS and ProtoMore Kunnskapspark AS, and backed by Sunndal Næringsselskap and Nordveggen AS, these ambitious women participated in five training sessions, gaining crucial skills in business planning, marketing, financial management, and networking.
Their business ideas span diverse fields, including VR services for the public sector, pet salons, and AI-driven innovations in art and technology. Now, they are refining their concepts before taking the next step toward launching their ventures.
Project leader Daniela Gundersen from Møre og Romsdal County Municipality is immensely proud of what the participants have accomplished:
“The completion of our incubation program marks a significant milestone for these women and a step forward for innovation and entrepreneurship in our region. Their journey proves that with the right support and resources, barriers can be broken. We look forward to following their progress and supporting their entrepreneurial aspirations.”
Part of an EU Initiative
The program is a key component of the BSI4Women EU project, designed to help migrant women establish their own businesses. This initiative includes partners from Poland, Norway, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Sweden.
In this region, the project is a collaboration between Vindel, Protomore, Sunndal Næringsselskap, Nordveggen, and hoppid.no/Møre og Romsdal County Municipality.
Participants in the program come from various municipalities, including Haram, Hareid, Sunndalsøra, Tingvoll, Vestnes, and Ørsta.
Their success is also thanks to the invaluable support of local mentors and business advisors who have been instrumental in guiding them on this journey.
This initiative not only fosters female entrepreneurship but also strengthens the local economy by enabling more women to bring their ideas to life. As they take their next steps, the region eagerly anticipates the impact their businesses will have on the community and beyond.
