Inspiring Change at Örebro Cityfestival

22 August 2025
Technical details

As part of the Local Action Day initiative, Keep Sweden Tidy took part in the Örebro Cityfestival on August 2nd, inspiring festivalgoers to prevent littering and rethink their use of single-use plastics. Families and visitors of all ages were invited to join a variety of interactive activities, from litter-picking and waste-sorting games to arts and crafts and even a meet-and-greet with two local music artists.

Children’s creativity shone through as they proudly wore their handmade paper masks while setting off on litter-collecting quests and spreading the message against single-use plastics. Throughout the day, we estimate that nearly 1,000 children and their families engaged with our activities. The presence of popular local artists also drew many enthusiastic young fans, creating the perfect opportunity to share our message about reducing litter and minimizing single-use plastics in daily life.

Overall, the event was very well-received by festivalgoers and showed how festivals and public gatherings can serve as powerful platforms for raising awareness about littering and single-use plastics.
